Registrar FAQs

Where can I find GSC class offering information?

Courses offered at GSC can be found online at http://www.gsc.edu/schedule.htm.

How do I register for classes and change my schedule?

Information about registration and schedule adjustments can be found online at http://www.gsc.edu/schedule.htm. Schedule adjustment deadlines are available at http://www.gsc.edu/admin/registrar/TermAcademicDeadlines.htm.

Where can I find information about withdrawing from courses?

To avoid academic penalty students must withdraw from a course prior to the midpoint of the session to receive a grade of “W.” The “W” grade is not considered in computing grade point averages. Course withdrawals after the midpoint date result in a grade of “WF.” The “WF” grade is computed as an “F” grade. The midpoints for all sessions and other academic deadlines are available at http://www.gsc.edu/admin/registrar/TermAcademicDeadlines.htm.  There is no refund for a course withdrawal; withdrawing from part, but not all of one’s schedule of classes.

Instructions for Withdrawing from Classes

Where can I get enrollment verification for insurance or loan purposes?

You may obtain a verification letter certifying enrollment (full- or part- time status) for the current semester from the Registrar’s Office with your student ID card. Gainesville students should go to Student Center, and Oconee students should go to the Administration Building on the Oconee campus.

Where can I get a copy of my grades for my parents, employers, or myself?

You may view and print your grades via Banner Web. Click the “Student and Financial Aid Menu,” “Student Records,” then “Grade Report.” You may obtain an official copy of your academic transcript from the Registrar’s Office with your student ID card. Immediate transcripts are $10.00 each. There is no fee for mailing a transcript. For instructions for ordering an official academic transcript, go to http://www.gsc.edu/admin/registrar/forms.htm.

Where can I get information about privacy and the release of student records?

Your records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  Information about your rights is published in the GSC Catalog, the Student Handbook, and online at http://www.gsc.edu/admin/registrar/FERPA_AN.htm.
