What is a "924 Number" number and how do I get one?
The (924) Number is your new GSC Student ID. This username identifies you to the GSC campus network and enables you to use a variety of resources and services. Your official campus email address is based on this username. Your (924)Number is created automatically.

How do I get my (924) number?
There are several ways to get your (924) number.
- Check the
Student ID Number Retrieval System on the web.
- Visit the Student Activities office to pick up your new Student ID Card that will include your new (924) Number.
- Login to any computer on campus. Type gscid as the username (leave the password field blank.) By doing this you will be logging into the Student ID
retrieval system. At the screen, enter your First Name, Last Name and Date of Birth in order to obtain your new (924) number
- Enter your SS# into Banner Web and press the login button. Your New (924) number will be displayed.
To Access Banner Web on Campus:
Click on Start> Banner Web
To Access Banner Web from Off Campus
Go to the GSC home page http://www.gsc.edu
Click on Quick Links (Drop Down menu)
Select Banner Web
Click the link to GSC Banner Student Records System
Click Login to Banner Web
Enter your SS# and press the Login button ( leave the password field blank)
Your new (924) Number will be displayed on the screen
What is my password?
New students Password:
The last four digits of your social security number and the two-digit
day (not month) of your birthday. Example
You are encouraged to change your password since this is the default password.
Returning students Password:
Please use your 6 digit banner pin. If you have forgotten your pin, please go to the student helpdesk and have them to reset your pin.
What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, a staff member in the Library, ACTT or Registrar's Office can help you. They will gladly reset your password with your GSC Picture ID.
How do I change my password?
Login to a campus computer, Click start > GSC Menu > General Applications > Change my network password
When choosing a password, there are a few restrictions you should be aware of.
- Passwords are case sensitive.
- Passwords must contain at least 5 character

Effective January 1, 2006, Gainesville State College will no longer use Social Security Numbers as a primary way to identify GSC students and employees; instead, a unique identifier called the 924 Number will be assigned to students. The 924 Number will be used across all systems, applications, and many business processes throughout the lifetime of an student's association with the college. This change is in accordance with GSC's new "Social Security Number Policy". This step is critical in the continuing efforts to reduce the risk of identity theft for the campus community.
