Campus parking is by permit ONLY and is required by both day and night students, full-time or part-time. All students who park on campus must register their vehicles with the Department of Public Safety. Parking Permits may be obtained at the Department of Public Safety office. (Location # 8 on map)
All vehicles must display a current GSC Student Parking Permit from the rear view mirror (NO EXCEPTIONS). GSC Student Parking Permits; which are designed to hang from the rear view mirror, are transferable from one vehicle to another. The parking permit is registered to the student’s primary vehicle, but may be temporarily moved to another vehicle if needed.
The hanging permit must be displayed so that the Parking Permit Number can be read from outside the front window of the vehicle and may not be blocked from view by other objects hanging from the rear view mirror which make the Parking Permit Number unreadable. It is recommended that the hanging GSC Parking Permit be removed from the rear view mirror when the vehicle is in motion.
GSC Student Parking Permits may not be altered in any manner nor does the issuance of the Student Parking Permit allow any student to park in an area on campus other than those specifically designated for Student Parking. Students may park only in spaces marked for student parking. Parking in other spaces if forbidden.
GSC students must immediately report any lost, stolen, and/or mislaid GSC Student Parking Permit to the Department of Public Safety. Students who fail to notify the Department of Public Safety of a lost or stolen student parking permit may be held responsible for all parking tickets issued to that parking permit. Spaces marked as handicapped are only for vehicles displaying an authorized handicap permit. Vehicles parked on campus overnight or for extended periods of time require notification to the Department of Public Safety.
Do
- Park in student designated spaces only.
- Register your vehicle. You have already paid for the permit, so there is no reason why you should not have a parking permit on your vehicle. (Note: Parking is reserved for faculty, staff and students of Gainesville State College and is a privilege, not a right).
- Complete the registration card. You must provide the correct license plate tag information and your correct 924 student ID number.
