The Advising Center serves as a central point of contact for students requesting information about academic programs, campus referrals, and the transferring process. Professional advisors also work with at-risk students on academic interventions designed to enhance the potential for student success.
The Career Services counselors are available to work with students on setting educational goals, defining work values, identifying interests, gathering information about possible career choices, deciding on which college/university to transfer to, and getting prepared for job hunting.
This office provides accommodations for students with disabilities. All accommodations are made on an individual basis.
Short-term personal counseling is offered to students who are experiencing any of the following: Anxiety and Test/Math anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties/interpersonal conflicts, drug and alcohol addiction, grief, indecision about personal/academic matters, crises, self exploration, sexuality issues, and addictive behaviors. Referrals to psychiatrists, therapists, and evaluation services, are also available. All personal counseling is provided in a supportive and confidential atmosphere and is free of charge to GSC students.
