Hispanic Leadership Development

The Office for Diversity Initiatives and Intercultural Relations (ODIIR) is committed to educating the GSC community about the history and cultural of Latino people. In addition, ODIIR seeks to develop Latino leaders to serve the local community and beyond.

ODIIR and the coordinator for Hispanic Leadership Development prepare its students for leadership and service by planning, developing, and implementing programs that:

  • develop oral and written communication skills, creative and critical thinking and intercultural competence;
  • promote an understanding and appreciation of various cultures;
  • develop specific knowledge and skills needed for the pursuit of professional careers and/or graduate study; and
  • help develop character by encouraging self-confidence, inclusivity, ethical behavior, academic excellence and a commitment to social justice.
