Mission Statement:  The English Department offers its students exciting opportunities for critical thinking, research, and analysis in the fields of academic, professional, and creative writing; the study of literature from world cultures, past and present; and the technology of literary publication. Through individualized attention and in a mutually supportive environment, students are encouraged to advance as readers, writers, critical thinkers, and patrons of the literary arts. The Department endeavors through such opportunities to nurture an informed, mindful citizenry for a multicultural society.
