The Essential Guide to Presentation Software Dr. Allison J. Ainsworth and Rob Patterson co-authored this textbook supplement to demonstrate the basics about presentation software design. By not applying visual communication theories to their design, presentations are not effective as a communication tool. Additionally, The Essential Guide to Presentation Software is the first communication text to explain how to incorporate geospatial mapping into presentation software.
Religion and Mass Media:  Audiences and Adaptations~Daniel A. Stout~Judith M. Buddenbaum Dr. Cheryl R. Gooch contributed to the book Religion and Mass Media by authoring the chapter titled Rappin’ for the Lord: The Uses of Gospel Rap and Contemporary Music in Black Religious Communities. This case study highlights the prevalence of modern music forms in church worship services. Other chapters address the use of other media across a diverse representation of religious denominations.
What Democrats Talk About When They Talk About God Religious Communication in Democratic Party Politics Edited by David Weiss Paul R. Raptis, Dr. C. Thomas Preston Jr., Dr. Allison J. Ainsworth, and Dr. David Weiss were invited to contribute a chapter in the book What Democrats Talk about When They Talk about God: Religious Communication in Democratic Party Politics after completing a presentation on the rhetoric of Bill Clinton at the 2006 National Communication Association annual convention. Their chapter Bill Clinton’s Looking Glass: A Metaphorical Analogy for the Faith and Values of the Democratic Party offers insight into the use of Biblical references and metaphors in presidential speeches.
