Financial Aid Deadlines

Fall Semester:  June 1st

Spring Semester:  Nov 1st

Summer Semester:  April 1st

 

If the deadline has passed, you are still allowed to submit applications and documents. 

 

Students submitting items after the deadline should be prepared to pay tuition and fees then allow the amount of time listed to receive reimbursement.

 

 Processing Time for Document Submission:


September - April
Allow 8 weeks processing time

May - August
Allow 12 weeks processing time

Our mission is to provide financial aid information and services to students in a way that is understandable, responsive to needs, and in compliance with federal and state regulations.



 

Important Announcements:

   

  • Fall Financial Aid Awards:  Students who are accepted at GSC may view their Financial Aid Award Letter online using their Banner Web Account.  After reviewing your award letter, if you have further questions, please email finaid@gsc.edu with your GSC ID, your name, and your question. 

 

 

  • Financial Aid Checks:  You may pick up your check in the Business Affairs Office on the Gainesville Campus and in the Front Office on the Oconee Campus.  Students who have at least one class in Oconee will pick up checks at the Oconee Campus.  A photo ID is required.

 

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):  Complete the FAFSA only once a year.  The 2008-2009 FAFSA covers Fall 08/Spring 09/Summer 09.

 

  • HOPE Authorization:  Gainesville State College needs authorization from you to deduct any additional fees from your HOPE book allowance.  In Banner Web, select "Financial Aid", "Student Authorization", then "Authorize" and "Submit" on the HOPE Book Authorization.
